Privacy policy

T-Mend ("T-Mend", "we") builds tools that turn team conversations into structured task lists. This policy explains what happens to the text you paste into T-Mend and the limited data we handle to run the service.

What you send us

When you press Mend workflow, the text in the input box is sent to our server so it can be analyzed. That text can include names and messages from your teammates, so only paste conversations you have the right to share, and remove anything sensitive such as passwords, ID numbers or health information first.

How your text is processed

Your text is used to produce the board, warnings and questions you see on screen. We never use it to train models. Nothing is stored on our servers unless you log in and save a board, as described below.

When AI analysis is enabled, your text is sent to Anthropic, PBC through its commercial API to generate the analysis. Anthropic processes API data under its own commercial terms and privacy policy, which do not permit training on API inputs by default. When AI analysis is not enabled, your text is processed by a rule-based parser that runs entirely on our server.

Recordings and audio

When you drop a video or audio file or record from your microphone, the audio is decoded inside your browser. The file itself is never uploaded to T-Mend, and recordings are not saved with boards.

By default, transcription runs in your browser using an open-source Whisper speech model that your browser downloads once from Hugging Face. In that mode your audio stays on your device.

If cloud transcription is switched on for this site, compressed audio is sent in short chunks through our server to Groq or OpenAI to be transcribed, and is not stored by T-Mend. Those providers process it under their API terms. If the cloud service fails, T-Mend falls back to in-browser transcription.

Live captions while recording use your browser's built-in speech recognition. In some browsers, such as Chrome, that feature sends audio to the browser maker's servers. You can switch live captions off before recording; Whisper then transcribes the recording when you stop.

The resulting transcript is treated like pasted text: it is analysed to build your board and, if you save the board, stored with it.

Guest mode

If you use T-Mend without an account, boards you save are kept in your browser's local storage on your device, together with the text you pasted. Clearing your browser data deletes them. Snapshot share links carry the board inside the link itself, after the # sign, which browsers do not send to our server. They never include the pasted text.

Accounts and saved boards

If you create an account, we store your email address, the name you give us, and either a securely hashed password or, if you use Continue with Google, your Google account's name, email and profile picture link, through our authentication provider, Supabase. We never see your Google password. When you press Save board, the board, its analysis, your column and checklist changes, and the text you pasted are stored in our database so you can open them on any device. Only you can read or change them.

Boards are shareable by link while link sharing is on, which is the default. Anyone with the link can view the summary, board, team load and open questions, but never the pasted text or your email. You can turn link sharing off from the Share board link menu, or delete a board from your saved boards at any time.

Technical data

Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic request data such as IP address, browser type and request time to keep the service secure and reliable. We use IP addresses briefly in memory to limit abuse of the analysis endpoint. We do not use advertising trackers and we do not sell personal information.

Children

T-Mend is intended for university students, professionals and teams. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices and rights

You can delete any saved board yourself. To delete your account and everything stored with it, or to exercise rights available to you under laws such as the GDPR or the Philippine Data Privacy Act, contact us and we'll respond within 30 days.

Changes

If we change how T-Mend handles data, we'll update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
